Communist Rules for Revolution
(Note: I, Jane Gaffin in Whitehorse, Yukon, thought the good people of the world might be interested in the following text. "Rules for Revolution" was published circa 1951 in some American newspapers and was found among my mother's clipping files. The text was submitted to the newspapers by George A. Brautigam, the-then State Attorney for the State of Florida. At the time, "Rules" was acknowledged to be still a part of the Communist program for overthrowing the U.S. government, as well as the Canadian government, I daresay. And it is as pertinent today as in 1919 when and even more so today because we're closer to it than when it was published in 1951 during what was part of the Age of Suspicion, which I often refer to as a Red Under Every Bed era.)

(Note: It has been brought to my attention that some believe the story of these rules may not be "provable". That takes nothing away from the validity of the rules themselves. However they came into existence is not relevant, in my not-so-humble opinion.

They are the truth of the Marxist-Leninist approach to the democratic world, and so they remain here as a reminder to those who would believe the Leftists don't exist.

Look at our world. Look at Canada today and tell me that all or most of the items listed below are NOT being done to this once-great nation.

A. Corrupt the young, get them away from religion. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial, destroy their ruggedness.

B. Get control of all means of publicity and thereby:

  • Get people's minds off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sexy books and plays and other trivialities.
  • Divide the people into hostile groups by constantly harping on controversial matters of no importance.
  • Destroy the people's faith in their natural leaders by holding the latter up to contempt, ridicule and obloquy.
  • Always preach true democracy but seize power as fast and as ruthlessly as possible.
  • By encouraging government extravagance, destroy its credit, produce fear of inflation with rising prices and general discontent.
  • Foment unnecessary strikes in vital industries, encourage civil disorders, and foster a lenient and soft attitude on the part of government toward such disorders.
  • By specious argument cause the breakdown of the old moral virtues:
    • honesty,
    • sobriety,
    • continence,
    • faith in the pledged word,
    • ruggedness.

C. Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext, with a view to confiscating them and leaving the population helpless.
